The artist, Ruth Burke does not rely on special effect filters to create an image. She uses her "creative eye" to etch from life onto film, what captures her attention. The result is a film original or "photographic etching" that she will convert into a digital file or "printing plate" to be read for making a giclee print.
Ruth Burke received most of her training in art an photography in her home state of Texas. Twenty-five years of artistic growth began with drawing, painting and collage which led int photography as her medium of choice. Ruth perfected her art of printing in the traditional darkroom, laterto combine her skills and vision, expandinginto the technically superior process of giclee printing. A Ruth Burke print will always include her signature in silver metalic ink. The currently resides on the Texas Gulf Coast, where her images of the ever-changing coastal landmarks and wildlife excel in popularity. Prints from her travels to the East and West coast of the United States, many islands in the Carrabean, Mexico, England, France, Spain and the country of her family, Italy are included in many corporate and individual art collections throughout the world. Each year she continues to add to her collection of prints, creating a selection from new and archived images
